brake lights come on with headlights

Hi. new problem just come up. I just realised that my brake lights stick on when i turn any of my front lights on. It only seems to of done it since i changed the brake light bulbs. I did disconnect the rear brake light cluster connector. Could it be that ive put them on back to front? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you put the offset pins of the brake bulb in the right way round? It should be impossible to get it back to front.......

No I tried them in diff ways with no effect. Could be that the bulbs im using for brake lights are too powerful? Id assume if they are they would blow the fuse.

Have you compared the old with the new bulbs to see if they are exactly the same bulb?

Take out each bulb in turn and see what happens.

My guess is you have fitted the wrong bulbs or fitted them incorrectly.....or you have a faulty bulb.
Check the connectors as well.

This reminds me of the time my mate's cruise control wouldn't work at night....

Get somebody to press the brake pedal while you watch the lights if they go just a little brighter you probably have the bulbs in the wrong way round, not supposed to be able to but with older lamp holders there's more play in them to do it

Try redoing the connectors? Pull them off, make sure everything lines up and shove 'em back.

I did press the brake pedal in the dark and did see a slightly brighter light appear. I did try the bulvs different ways but no different. Its baffling lol

Hi again. Just an update. Me being the div i am i used the wrong bulb lol. Thanks for all the replies thought.
