After 10 years and 80K miles I decided new dampers were in order:
Bilstein B4's, the 'OE' replacement damper, the car drives like new I've only gone round the block but will report more after a few days, Saturday will be going for a Hunters Alignment
New 'TRW' Discs and Brake Pads fitted all round:
Remember the busted CV boot capers? well the Inner CV boot came in a nice Volvo Box for £40.00:
Ooh, new grease, good, they'll be needing some of that:
Oh fucks sake:
Gearbox oil has been changed for Fuchs Sintofluid also.
All I need now is the wheels refurbished and some rust treatment to the suspension arms and the car is 'finished' as far as I want it to be planning on keeping a good few more years now.

Meh, grease is grease, even if it said Renault on the packet.
I'll bet that lot set you back a pretty penny What I hate about that sort of job is not really seeing an improvement, or maybe something you just can't put your finger on, so seeing an improvement straight away must make it all seem worthwhile (hopefully).

Re: I can has new dampers and brakes
Taking the car now over my usual commute and it really is impressive, I can't believe the difference the dampers have made, the car is quieter, rides and handles way better, steers better, brakes better (no front end dipping) it is easily the best result per pound I've ever had with any car.
Cost wise it would have been about £1,000.00 but it cost me £260.00 (the rest was 'lost' through the Business)
The dampers themselves cost £200.00 delivered which is very impressive for what you get.

What Bilstein B4 did you get?
I found the following numbers on their website;
B4 Gas front right - 22-046826
B4 Gas front left - 22-046833
B4 Gas rear - 19-061245
Same as yours?

Re: I can has new dampers and brakes
Sorry my car is actually a Volvo hence why I posted in Volvo section, sorry for any confusion. What I can say though is that the B4's are excellent as a standard replacement, and slightly uprated in themselves.

My bad.
Didn't notice it was in the Volvo section.
I'll post in the 406 section.
Many thanks.
