The cambelt interval on the 1.6D has been brought-forward to 86K miles
The replacement interval for timing belt kit on D4162T (84) has been changed to 140 000 km.
This affects the following variants: C30, S40 (04-), V40 (13-), V40 Cross Country, V50, S60
(11-), V60, S80 (07-) and V70 (08-) from model year 2011 and forward, which have adapted
service programs."
Just thought I should make you aware; apparently Volvo haven't issued a recall, but rather are including the timing belt replacement when your vehicle goes in for it's nearest mileage service!

Surprised Ford haven't done this on the 1.8TDCi too!
Loads of stories of the fuel pump timing belt cassettes failing around 90k.
It's quite funny because the fuel pump timing belt is a 'Wet Belt' which gets its own oil feed like a timing chain. Ford cannot make them reliably last 100k on the 1.8TDCis but the new 1.0 Ecoboost also has a wet timing belt and apparently it's fit for the life of the engine! Who knows? Maybe 100k is the life of the engine!

I think you may be correct, sadly, and I'm guessing the little 1.0 Turbo would be quite glad to retire to the knackered engine's retirement home with all the Fiat Twin-Air's.........
