Hi there, I can't think of anything that's normally blanked off. I guess it would be better with a pic - I think most of us use photobucket to host them, then put img tags for it on here.

if you look at the photo's, your see a square hole in one pic and its blanked of in the other above the heater controls and next to the air-con button.

I am guessing it's the one next to the hazard and heated rear screen switches. I think that is where the external temperature display goes for on a lot of models? I have like a storage slot there on mine though

Above the heater direction knob? It looks like the screen's there in the first pic (or is that a blank?) but I can't tell in the second (same car?) It should have the external temperature as Mandelbug said, maybe the bulbs have gone?

Aha! All is now clear. Looks like you just have a storage slot like Mandelbug I'm afraid.

I was half tempted to look into putting the display in there but as the 406 is my daily rather than my toy don't want to be spending a fortune on it with nice things, more keep it running

You can pick a trip computer up for a tenner on ebay; if your car is a petrol and you're handy with a soldering iron you can wire up all the trip functions; a very satisfying job too!mandelbug wrote:I was half tempted to look into putting the display in there but as the 406 is my daily rather than my toy don't want to be spending a fortune on it with nice things, more keep it running
