Replacing cream leather with black, anyone done it?

I've got a D9 GTX HDi which is black with cream interior, i managed to get an interior from a supposed D8.5 last year which i managed to play with and fit fronts and rears, drivers seat is a bit worn plus it seems like the heat pad in drivers seat is faulty, and as i can not find another set of cream D9 leathers i was thinking of looking at a black set, not too sure what black leather would look like with cream carpet etc, anyone got any thoughts?

If you get the grey dash plastics to match and a couple of dark mats it might not look too bad.
You could always try taking some spraypaint to the carpet and headlining?
Actually bugger it, just try and get a new drivers seat - I've had 406s in both colours and the cream did make the car seem a lot more spacious and classy

If someone had the cream D9 seats i'd snap their hand of for 'em
Had my D9 for 16 months now and i've only seen one set of D8 cream leathers and two from D8.5's, fed up of my side airbag light flashing as there is nothing there, i keep checking eBay and the local scrappy but can only ever find the black ones.
Might be time to take a photo and play with photoshop to see what it would look like.....

The front seats might be interchangeable between D8 and D9s...

The front seats would fit, pretensioner connector on drivers seat is different and also no side airbags, the D8.5 seats i have have the D8 wiring and lower lumbar support but the ribbed leather of the D9, I got around the different wiring on the drivers seat by taking out the wiring and switch from my GTX seats and swapping it over, much easier than trying to rewire the cables from the seat ECU...

You've got the exact seats i've been after! Looks really nice, doesn't look out of place at all, i may just get some black seats and see how it goes, even sorted the wiring for the heated seats on Sunday so would just be plug and play.
I still have some spare wiring from my old seats, think i still have the button for the passenger seat which your missing if you want it?

they switched from the horizontally stitched seats to the vertically stiched around late 1997, it's not a mark of whether it was made for a D8 or D9, although the horizontally stiched ones were only found on early D8s

ask the breakers on ebay if it is just the front seat you are after they may be willing to split them for you

I went for a drive to London yesterday and picked up a full D9 black interior, got it all fitted this morning, everything fine, even the heated seats work on both sides! Got the leather door cards fitted too, everything looks fine except for the seat belts, so i'll be off to the breakers next Saturday to see if i can get some black ones.
I'll upload pics in the morning....

There really is a lot involved with changing the interior colour isn't there? Seatbelts, seatbelt buckles, pillars, over-door handles, courtesy light panel, ultrasonic sensor holders as well as the obvious bits like carpets, roof lining, parcel shelf, dash panels and of course the seats themselves
Must say I do like the look of the D9s handbrake lever - never noticed it before! And you've got a very nice looking gearstick gaiter. Might have to get myself a new one given how good yours looks without all the cracks that mine's got

Those seat belts look funny, good effort though.
