Good morning angles... Here's the thing, the seatbelts on my D8 are starting to get annoying, maybe due to the cold weather they're not retracting too well and my other half keeps shutting hers in the door ( ). Looks like there's a few manufactureres/suppliers on the interweb but none do ones for the good ol' 406.

I'd try taking them to bits but I have visions of a massive spring probelling the mechanisms into my face/over the wall and into next door's. Or at least moving them on from "annoying" to "useless".

So, has anyone any experience of either retensioning/rebuilding them or alternatives to over 100 quid a shot at the stealers? (last time I looked - wtf's going on with Service Box?)

I don't suppose you could spray some silicone lubricunt down there in the reel unit?

You'd have to watch getting it on the belt though cos that'd be your fault and it'd get on her indoors' blouse and whatnot

My missus *slams* the door on the belt it's not her fault though.. it's the belt's fault because it's a 'stupid belt' see.

And, on another completely unrelated topic, a well-meaning neighbour brought some cakes over yesterday while we weren't here. It's funny though, why she'd bring a big plate but only a few cakes..................................

Oh, how odd.

Maybe they wanted to bring over just a few cakes on a likkle plate but couldn't find one so in their haste they had to put them on a large plate which was unsuitably sized (given the small number of cakes they presented).

Yes, that must be it. I know, I'm ashamed - imagine thinking my mother-in-law sat and scoffed almost a whole plate of cakes as a snack between breakfast number two and lunch number one

Probably, how would that help with the tension springs?
