Motorised boot

Post by 486 »

I saw section Motorised boot (is similar) in Service Box. Is there such thing for 406 Estate or it is common section for Service Box and exists for other models (e.g. 607 - I know it has automatic boot).

I don't seem to be able to get into Service Box just now but yeah, it's a standard list, so it covers everything possible, but if you click the link it'll give a red "you must be joking" message.

Still, if it's on the 607 maybe it could be adapted...

It's possible to use a solenoid to 'pop' the boot latch on a 406, as some of the Coupé owners have removed their boot lock and fitted one.
However, the Coupé and the 607 have relatively small boot lids, and a different hinge set up - the 406 estate has a large heavy tailgate and would need a considerably strong mechanism to lift and close it.
