Replace driver's seat

Hello. My 406 is facelift (2004) and is left hand which is the standard here. My driver's seat (left) is not ideal and I found left seat in good condition from right hand 406. The question is whether I can replace my left seat with the other because driver's seat has additional levers to adjust position. The passenger's left seat from right hand car does not have these levers. I guess they are part from the bottom mechanism below the seat and I can unscrew the bolts below seat and mount it in my car. Is this correct or the driver's seat is different item and I cannot use passenger's left seat for driver's?

Hi there, welcome :cheesy:

I've put the electric seats from a RHD 406 into my old LHD, so I know they go, the only thing I don't know about on your mechanical (presumably) seat is if the seat height adjustment will transfer over. I suspect it will but you'll have to have a look to make sure.

Will there be any issues with the airbag? Earlier cars didn't get a seat airbag while your car almost certainly has one.

The RHD donor-car seat has airbag as well. I hope there is no need from activation or other pairing of new airbag with BSI. If it is working, only need to connect the cable.

I think the airbag connector for the airbag under the seat is the same - only the drivers airbag has a different connector on later ones..

How bad is the seat? Its possible to change only the foam part of the seat base, so you keep the LHD seat levers and runners, but the foam from the RHD on top.

If this is true, my driver's airbag is with different connector and will not fit with passenger's connector.

Sorry, I meant drivers steering wheel airbag - the seats are all the same connector for both the drivers and passengers seat :?:

Attached is a picture of the seat. The problem is not only in the textile but in foam under it. I know it does not look very bad but if I can replace it with better seat, why not. It is driver's and will become worse in future. Not sure is it possible to remove the textile and replace with other. It looks stitched.

Truthfully I've only replaced the seat base part, not the seat back/bolster part - sorry.
However to remove the seat is only 4 bolts and a couple of connectors - less than 10 minutes work, so you could remove your driver's seat and lay it upside down next to the RHD seat to compare and take pictures.....

Is it possible to divide the base from the back part?
