Pictures of the situation in hand, lol.(Passenger side).

I see black tape around the blue (side airbag) and brown (seat belt pensioners) connections.

Should I missing the yellow one? (What is it?)
I have been told to look at the orange one, is that the orange that's going into the blue connections, or the thicker orange cable that goes along near the central console?

To un-clip them is it a case of just pressing the top part of it to release? I want to improve access and tilt the seat back, what size screw is the one I need to do and which one (the start of the rail or on the rail)?
Haven't looked at the drivers side yet but I am convinced the fault I have is the passenger side and looking at the way those orange cables come out the blue connector - I think as suggested they are the ones that need attention..........

Thanks

dont worry about the yellow plug,
its a dummy block,

the green wire going into the red block is earth,

push the tabs and the connectors shouid pull out,

id take the tape off and have alook and see if there secure, if not chop one wire at atime and use a chock a block (wiring connector) or decent scotch locks

if you join one wire at atime there will be less risk of getting the wires mixed up,

At this point I am going to hold my hands extremely high in the air and say ''What what?''
I understand all that you said until you said chop one wire at a time and use a chock a block (A what what now?) or decent scotch locks...
Do you think the terminals of the wires that lead into the plug need cutting / stripping? Would it be easy to put them back into the already plastic plug that clips back into the unit? Thanks for your patience with me

yes, using the original plugs might be easier,
try repairing them first, (plan A)

and if no joy, go to plan B and chop out the connectors and hard wire them,

try plan A first and then we will discuss plan b, less confusion for you then ihope ?

A crap picture I know but does anyone know what size the screws are either side of the front seats? (The one on the left ON the picture, I want to tilt the seat for better access).

It seems to be between a T30 and T40 - I own nothing in-between.
I have tried pliers to move the screw around but to no such avail.

Anyone? Help?

None of the listings seem to show anything between T30 & 40 - maybe it's been damaged trying to use something else?
Have you tried any similar sized fixings, (maybe the other seat), to see if anything fits?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Good idea, I have tried other fixings, I don't have a large enough Philips head so thought I would try the star bits... The T30 fits nearly but is only just slightly too small.. I have tried to use pliers but it is very stuck and was damaging the head even more.......

Thanks for your help

A desperate measure that may work is cooking foil.

Wrap the T30 tightly in foil and try it, wrap another layer until you get it snug.

If can work if you are careful.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

What a damn good idea that is! :)
I have just searched on Flea Bay and found there is a T35 and for £3.99 and 65p postage I have bought it... I will try this foil idea though, what a good idea that is! Breaker bar coming tomorrow, I seem to be back and for, getting stuck on jobs then moving back to the other one... I will finish this car one day..... lol :supafrisk: Thanks again - sorry to hear about the V6 Exec

Well NOW any warning light appearing on the dash is an instant fail - I knew it was coming....... but now it is definitely a job that needs doing, sorting and finishing...... I need to reconnect the passenger side seat belt pre-tens and then start on the drivers side as that is where the fault is after all.
I hope that unplugging, poking down on the metal plate and reconnecting them together will sort the problem  I am out of my depth with electrics

I seen on a friends mercedes sprinter, the bulb for the airbag was disconnected and wired up to come on with the one for the abs light, it meant that it did the proper turning on and extinguishing sequence so the mot tester wouldnt know, probelm was a few days before the test the sprinter developed an abs fault :D
