wind deflectors,

Post by lozz »

as anyone on here fitted wind deflectors?

whats with the metal clips?
ive put them on but the instructions might as well be in Brail,
which way round shouid the metal clip go, the side with the prong on does that go against the plastic or the seal?
tried putting them on with no clips but they go loose, so ithink them clips are needed,

they might as well make them clips out of razor blades cut my fingers to bits with them,

you dont need the clips for the front because its impossible for them ones to fall out.
ive got wind deflectors on my d8 and i havnt used the clips on all 4 doors. the front sit in perfect and will never fall out
the rear i used cyonacrilate super glue and bonded them to the rubber .

The side with the tooth i face into the rubber then it gets more grip, although when i ordered the deflectors (heko ones) i got them to send extra clips, what also helps is to get a big flathead screwdriver and ram it into the window run channel as opposed to using the power of the electric window to put them into place.

Thats what itried doing,
but these renaults must have sensors, the window just cut out and wouidnt work again until ign-on and off twice,

ive got the Clips sat right now so, theyre secure,
idont think that tape whats on them wouid of held them in place for long, idont know how thin the winddeflectors are for the 406s but these ones are wafer thin,
but theyre coshir, thought they where fake ones at first,

Ah the window run channels on the 406 are much more forgiving than the ones on the nissan primera, they can compress a lot more. On my dads nissan it had wind deflectors and it jammed at the top then cut out and it wouldn't work for about 30 mins, even after removing the wind deflectors the primera still did this, only after changing the run channel and applying silicone grease on the runners did the problem go away.
I think nissan and renault are using the same electric windows
