I thought that originally too but surely the way all other cars do it that the mileage is held in the ecu then displayed on the clocks would make more sense.
Wouldn't matter what dials you put in then, your mileage is what your mileage is.

Unless Pug want you to have to fork out for new parts from them rather than using 2nd hand parts or Ebay?
