How do you do it? Do they just peel off and could you use an old credit card to scrape off the residue?

Pretty much, but the boot badge on the estate leaves holes in the tailgate. Also be aware that you may end up with a ghosting of the badges where the other paint has faded.

I thought you got a bit of nylon line behind the badge like a cheese wire? warming them up with a hair drier might help first?

Cheers, I noticed on mine that GLX is only on one side next to the repeater and the rear badge has been replaced with a TX, thought it might look better without them. I remember in the past using a bit of white spirit to remove the remaining residue, is that safe?

All it took to remove the badges & gunk on mine was a good grip & fingernails. Used a bit of tar remover afterwards, but all was good.

Get a hairdryer out and heat up the badges until the glue goes soft, and it will make it a lot easier to remove them

old post but thought i would mention this for any1 else that reads it in future ..
go to a plastic window UPVC supplier and buy a bottle of UPVC white frame cleaner... i use this for everything.
it removes glue residue from de-badging with ease and doesnt do anything to the paint . this stuff is superb
