Global Warming? Water in o/s passenger footwell.

Post by MichealKnight »

Hello, I have a 117k 406 S 2003 Estate. In my area it has been raining a fair bit(lots of lying road water) and the o/s passenger footwell is saturated with water. No other footwell in the car is wet...under backseat is dry, headlining dry and no obvious cracks in the door surround rubbers. Last year no problems(was raining)... but this year car filling up. Have looked under car..there seems no obvious holes.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks,
Jon.

This could be the door sill rubbers (happened to mine) or the water shedder behind the door card.

Take the door card off. my guess is the seal behind that. the seal actually seals on the door NOT the doorcard.

remove card and u will see it. a sponge type material. make sure its in tact and no splits or holes especially accross the bottom.

apart from the sealing sheet behind the doorcard which is highly likely the sunroof if you have one is drained by 2 pipes at the front one in each a pillar they can block up with silt but are easy to clean out

Maybe these pics and (later on the same thread) these pics and (later again on the same thread) this pic might be relevant?

The last one in particular: see the trail of silt forwards from the gap?
