Looks like its doing the self test.
The gauge on my set of coupe clocks does the same when you turn the ignition on. The needle moves up and down twice, then the strip of orange and red turns off and the needle sits at off.

Just been buggering about because those clocks read 116k and mines only done 107. So Ive chopped and changed a few things. You get some extra LEDs on the coupe clocks, a proper handbrake light not just (!) a light that says when the rear doors are open.
Theres also gaps for adjustable suspension, sports mode and a few other wierd ones that UK spec cars would never have seen!

Ill take a pic of the plugs on the back but I would think the looms would be different. I dont see why Coupe petrol clocks wouldnt be suitable for yours, I kept my old mechanism so the mileage was the same, I just changed everything else -- dials, surround etc.

If you mean a D8 2.1Td and a D9 HDI, then no, you cannot put a D9 clock assembly in a D8.

The backside of the clocks on the D9 only has one loom connector, whereas the D8 has two connectors. Something to do with an overhauled wiring loom on the D9.

Thanks Bluey. That's a shame... I wouldn't mind the silver rings around the dials :)

Use the coupe ones I have. Just replace the petrol actual dials with yours. The silver trim is just the surround....

Yes, the silver dial surrounds are part of the front piece of the clocks. (The bit with the perspect shield) Its a simple screw off/screw on job.
Just don't do what I did, pull the needles off the dials! Naffs the calibration!

I'll try and organise some photos or diagrams.

You can get that on my exec by just buying a couple of £1.50 lights from the dealer and pushing them into the holes at the back of the dials ;)

I left the brake one out (prefer the exclamation mark) but the doors open light is nice to have. Wonder why Peugeot didn't bother fitting the light in the first place...
