A New Seat Question

Have had a look using the Search & can't find anybody that's covered it yet, but is it possible to take the rear seat cover from a saloon rear seat & use it to cover an estate rear seat? All I can find is evidence that people have managed to cover D8 bases with D9 covers & vice versa.

What do you mean by cover? Do you mean the upholstry on the seats? In that case, it wont work. But if its seat covers that can be bought from the likes of halfords then it varies by each manufaturer, you might get away with it

Nah, as Eoin says, it ain't gonna work. The rear seats in the saloon and estate are very different.

Pity. Been hoping to upgrade my interior to SRi Half leather as I think the seats are nicer than the full leathers in the Exec & would also remove the need for rewiring as SRi seats are manual adjustment, but SRi estates just don't seem to be getting broken anywhere. Was also hoping to gain a rear armrest as my 7 seat LX doesn't have it. Am I missing the armrest because mine is the 7 seat without the split rear seat or is it just an LX thing?

The SRi trim is the rarest fitted to any 406. I'd love a set of SRi seats for my LX saloon, but it's like finding hen's teeth.
That said, if someone does spot a D9 SRi saloon in a breaker's yard with a full set of seats, please please please let me know

No I don't think any of the estates have an armrest.

I don't really know about the rest of it, but I love the half-leather seats. The same seats were fitted to late D9s in SE trim as well, as far as I know. Still, rare as hell to find a set of them.
Bonus - for the mechanically/electrically faint of heart (like me), the half-leathers are the easiest seat upgrades, because it should be a straight-up swap with no extra wiring/looms/motor controls/BSI modifications to worry about.

Oh yeah - what was the nickname here... "arterial spray" ?
That was an awful trim.
The D9 SRi trim is much, much more pleasant. The 2.2 litre petrol engine is quite tasty too (wasn't that an HPi engine too?)
