Rear nearside tyre wearing on outside only.

My rear n/s tyre has worn down to the limits on the outside within 10000 miles, perhaps an inch and half from edge inwards. The rest of the tread is fine. Its a maxxis that was fitted last year after an mot fail by the garage. It was new.

My x climate Michelin on the front are fine, as is the rear o/s

The old tyre never had this issue.

Pressures all correct etc...Any ideas guys?

Usual culprit is the rear track arms which have a kind of eccentric bolt affair that allows you to adjust the rear geometry. (There has been some debate about whether it's a camber or toe adjustment, but I'm no suspension expert).

Try searching rear track arms in this section of the site - lots of relevant posts

+1 Look up Doggy is spot on,
My advice would be new links with the new eccentric bolts & washers.

I did mine when I first had it (but the photo's are long gone  )

You will need a proper four wheel alignment ( that understands than the rear end is adjustable  )

Doggy, it's both camber & castor, I had this discussion with Jasper5 back when I did mine (if you can be bothered to look)

H.T H :) DDD.

It's been discussed on here many times regarding the rear adjustment.

The 4 wheel alignment places will understand the workings of the eccentric bolt and how it plays it's part.
