Steering angle sensor calibration.

My comms 2000 unit threw up an airbag fault and suspect the clockspring thingy is at fault,i replaced the comms unit with a new one i had,my car has ESP (2003 2.0 hdi Executive),the problem i now have is although the airbag fault has gone i now have ASR/ESP fault on the MFD,is there a procedure for recalibrating the steering angle sensor or is it a pp2000 job?
