Hi all
I have a 2002 Rapier Estate with 205/60/15 and bought some cheap 17" Peugeot alloys, with 205/50/17 tyres. I'm hoping they fit and having read previous posts, there is talk of offset and that it should be similar or the same to prevent rubbing. Is there a way of telling by looking at the wheel? Is there a tolerance I can get away with?

Do you know what Peugeot the new wheels came from?
The standard 406 has an ET of 15, which is different to later Peugeot models (307,206 etc)
Everything will line up properly, but your new wheels may rub the inner arch a bit.

I think they were from a 206CC.
Is ET the offset? Is there anywhere on the wheel where it is marked?

I will be popping the fronts on in the a.m. to test them..

You might get away with these wheels then - try it and see The 206 has an ET of 20-25 so only 10mm difference.

The offset and ET are the same thing, maybe the ET number is stamped on the back somewhere for clarification.

I was under the impression you'd bought some 180gti challengers
These are 32mm et, std 406 is 18mm et.

So in theory you need a min of 14mm spacers but 20mm would be fine & take it out to the same et / off set as a coupe
12mm et & fill the archs better & less chance of rubbing the inner liners.

I have coupe wheels on my estate & they fill the arches a treat
