Front end knocking

I'm getting quite a loud knocking noise from the front end when on rough surfaces and going over speed bumps. I've had it up in the air but can't see anything worn or loose. Any one have an idea?

Thanks, now you mention drop links when I moved the rubber cover around on the bottom fixing water came out.

Agreed, droplinks are a 406 weak spot.
If you find these are the culprit, try to buy a reputable brand like Lemforder, otherwise you'll be doing it again next year....

Thanks for the help, I went into ecp this morning to see what they had. All they had on the shelf was one starline link, but for £8 I thought f*ck it its cheap enough to use to rule out the that part. Anyway replaced the drivers side and it cured the knocking on that side, so I'll get browsing and order some decent ones.
