Brakes poor 2.0 HDI

Post by smwaniki »

When i brake while in 2nd gear the car speeds up instead of slowing down. Unless i step on the clutch braking alone won't stop it. My car is 2.0 HDI

Just to be clear, are you saying that this occurs when you're tricking along at tickover in 2nd?

Mine tends to do that but only if I let the revs drop below about 1000. As Lozz says, anti stall feature.

What are the brakes like at stopping?
Imean excluding ' geared breaking'.

If in doubt get it checked out.. The chaps at an mot garage with the ' rollers is your best bet..
