Car had its MOT today with an advisory on a rusty subframe , not dangerously corroded. Presumably the whole thing will need to come out. How difficult is this without a large garage?
Haynes doesn't give an directions to removing a rear subframe, so some guidance is welcome.

Mine had the same advisory on it's MOT last month,it's only surface rust and no way structural so I'm just going to give it a coating of old oil,is it a 406 your talking about?

Re: Rear Sub-Frame
Its a big enough job but not impossible, All the suspension has to come off including the fuel tank, exhaust and brake lines. Its on my 2do list for a parked D8 96 one. Probably still on the list this time next year. They are all rusted but not generally a problem and difficult enough to get at to carry out repairs insitu.

Thanks for the replies, its a 406 estate. Think I'll do the oil route as well. Wifes 207 is due an oil change.
