Air pressure gauge

Post by scotty73 »

Not sure if this has been covered before?

Back last winter after buying a trailer i got myself a digital tyre guadge to keep an eye on the trailer tyres instead of taking it to my local Asda to check but I've also used it to check the car after using the one in asda and the digital guadge i got always read one or two points below what asda says.

After putting my new wheels on i filled the front in Asda to 35psi... Digital guadge read 33psi.... Filled rears to 37psi digital read 34psi.

See what I'm getting at here? is the calibration out at Asda or is my guadge nay good?....Anyone else noticed this?

I guess it depends how many times the one at Asda has been driven over...

For indikashun... sorry, indication only...

Another thing is you have to drive to Asda, the tyres will have warmed up - did you try your gauge there, once you got the car home or after half an hour when they'd cooled down?

Guys, unless you can compare it with a calibrated standard, you're just speculating on which guesstimate might be the most accurate.
