Rear left wheel metal grinding noise, stripped and found sping pin had come loose from brake shoe and back plate hole it fits into getting bigger and has to be fixed thought you all may be interested luckley no damage.

Hi mate - a common problem, but sadly good condition backplates without a gaping hole for the spring clip are hard to find.

You can get away with a slim bolt with a tapered head ( screwdriver type ) through the spring, and a nylok nut and washer on the other end - just not too tight. Its a bit hard to get to but its a good fix...
