ABS control module - Are there differences?

Post by Sonia406 »

Q: Is there any difference between abs control modules? I presume because the D9 have 48 teeth on the rings the module will be different than the D8's but what I want to know is - is there any difference with a HDi ABS control module, compared to a petrol ABS control module?

IF, this abs fault doesn't settle down I am going to eliminate the connection box completely, either solder it together then use heat shrink around the connection, or screw the wires into a connection box. Either way, I'm going to eliminate it.

If elimination still leaves me with the bloody fault I am going to look at changing the ABS control module.
How easy, or hard is this job? Is there much Haynes back up?
Is there any differences between petrol and diesel ones?

Just a guess without any research on the matter, but I would expect the control module to be in only 2 versions (with and without ESP as per PP2000)

Number of teeth - provided that they are the same on each wheel - does not matter because the signal is used. More teeth = higher frequency that is all.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.
