Lower Engine Mount

Hi Guys,

I'm guessing this subject has come up a few times now, I have had a good search through but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for....... I need to replace the lower rear engine mount on my 2003 110HDi and after being under the car and looking at the options of how to complete the job I have come to the conclusion that I really do not want to have to pull the drive shaft out if I can help it. What I have noticed is that there are polly bush engine mounts available for the 306 HDi which would be relatively easy to fit in comparison however I cant find any listed anywhere for the 406.

So the question is does anyone know if these will fit our cars or if they are a different size??

Any light that anyone can shine on this would be greatly appreciated

Regards

406
Xsara.
306
jumpy van,
berlingo,
405.
and so on,

igot abush recently for the 306 and the above listed is on the label,
but always best to double check dont take my word for it,

Poly bushes have been fitted to members cars but can't remember who.

The general thinking is they can give vibration through the car especially while idling.
Personally I'd chop the old one out and press a new rubber mount in with some threaded bar and angle iron. Unbolting it off the engine and chasis should give you more room to manouvre.

You don't want to be fitting polybushed lower mounts to a diesel engine. The only person who would want to sit in it would be your Wife! :supafrisk:

Just a note about engine mountings.....

As from 20th March the new mot rules come into force and engine mountings are part of the new rules, so, If you have a dodgy lower mount or any other it could fail the mot.
