Hello, I wonder if any of you can help, I've been looking for a replacement suspension leg and spring, but most of the one's i've seen just state the car they've came off e.g 1.8 / 2.0 petrol, so my question is do all models use different legs/springs, my car is a 53 reg 2.0 hdi 90 estate
Thanks Damian

yes thay are all different as the 2l petrols are quit a bit heavier than the hdis best bet would be to buy new parts, as the springs are prone to snapping and theirs nothing worse than getting a second hand one fitting it and lowering it to the ground and the spring snapping and popping the Tyre and tearing the drive shaft boot.

After having my front springs snap before xmas(174k odd miles)i would`nt get 2nd hand ones.Mine were about £85 ish for 2 new struts inc shocks, gsf.Though i did`nt replace the strut tops/bearings.I now have new strut tops & bearings ready to fit when i get time.£58 on ebay for the pair.

Thanks for the replies,
unfortunately my budget won't stretch to buying brand new, so I have to take a chance in buying second hand,
I know this isn't in the right section but if i'm doing 30mph in 4th gear, my car kangaroo's like crazy, is this normal?
Thanks

up/downhill of flat and what engine rpm are we taking as i think thats a bout 1,000rpm which is a bit low, 3rd would be my choice of gear for doing 30mph
what is sound like is the anti-stall kicking in which put in a lot of diesel to stop it from stalling

Sorry for the late reply, it happens on flat roads and I think revs are about 1400, once its up to 35 it all runs smooth again, just seems weird how I could drive my old car (vauxhall mervia) in 6th gear at 30 with no problems,

Just to update, the car is back on the road, it turned out to be a snapped spring , strut was fine so fitted a new spring which cost £20, next up clutch doh
