Anyone with 195mm wheels on a V6?
I'm having trouble finding reasonably priced winter wheels for my V6 in the standard 205/60R15 dimension (rim size: 6.5J x 15" - ET20), so I'm considering buying a set intended for a regular 406 (195/65R15, 6.0J x 15" - ET18). I just need to know if it will fit with the larger V6-brakes and what not.
So, has anyone here fitted "regular" wheels to their V6?

I'm pretty sure they won't clear the calipers.

I thought that's what 8 meant by "larger V6 brakes"...

Thank you all, midsmike is right; I don't have brembos.
The reason that I mentioned larger brakes is because I had been reading through the type certificates that state that e.g. the 1.8 has 260x24mm discs, as opposed to 283x26mm for the V6. However, upon closer inspection it seems as though it's the 1.8 which is the odd one; most 406's come with the same brake setup as the V6.
I'll give it a try.

Oops, yes that's right, I just assumed when you said larger that's what you meant. Carry on...

On a related note - would I need to get a set of new wheel bolts? I currently have the V6/turbo alloys, and will be getting steel rims for the winter wheels.

You should really but I got away with using the nuts from my alloys when I used to run my winter tyres on steel wheels because they start off with a taper that seemed to suit the chamfer in the wheels. They never came undone anyway...
It'd probably be easy enough to get a set there though, I had the choice of new bolts or nearly as much as new bolts for second hand ones

Re: Anyone with 195mm wheels on a V6?
Bolts for steel wheels are pretty standard but I usually acquire a few every time I go to a breakers buy scanning the floor in the pug section.
I once found a set of 4 in a nice box with an alfa badge on it, they were exactly the same as the ones on my pug and the fiat we had at the time.
Just a thought it may be cheaper to scan your local paper for a cheap banger with the right size steels on, buy it then scrap the rest. Breakers yards tend to weigh-in/crush old steels making them surprisingly tricky to get hold of. I've been after a 16" spare for 18 months with no joy
