As anyone seen the pads come away from the metal pad backing on Mintex pads,

took the Rear pads off last Night and they fell apart,
theyre only a couple of months old, :?

Heat related? or just a bad batch what do you think im thinking of sending them back but is it worth it?

ive Replaced them with a set of Jurid or jurad or what ever theyre called hopefully they wont do the same, :?

Not seen that, I've always reckoned Mintex pads but they're the pads on the back of the Toyota doing all the squealing, I did think it was the car but...

Pagid?

Thinking about it, if it is a duff batch you'd be doing everyone a favour by telling them about it.

I've only ever had it happen on EBC pads and that was on the bike.
I suddenly wondered why the brake had gone spongy and it had shot the friction material off the back end! No rhyme or reason & it's happened twice now, only on the rear. I can only imagine that the rear brake gets used less so there's more surface rust on the disk which catches on the pad; weird :|

this is a picture of the Mintex disc's and pads i took off my 407 recently, the pads outlasted the disc's and theres some separation of the friction material on the pads. were only on 2-3 years and about 20,000 miles.
replaced with cheapest i could find cos i needed these off

Cheers Trem,

thats what they was like on mine,
but as soon as idropped them on the floor the piston side ones fell apart,

ive took them Back to the shop igot them from and they Confirmed straight away, one side of each set of pads hasnt been fitted,
so its down to the chap ihad fit them, Im guessing he couidnt wind the piston back enough so hes slung an old pad back in on each side,

Iwill be having words with him soon,

Atleast iknow there Right now, aspose My own fault for Trusting some Monkey at a back street Garage,

Im wondering how they didnt pick up on them being iffy on the Mot, inoticed the Car pulled itself badly to the Right on the Rollers ithought it was going to end up in the wall,
Brakes went crap after that oddly, :?

Iwent back to the garage,
they gave me a refund for the work plus the pads,

He was going to sack the lad but italked the Manager out of that,
the lad held his hands up to only fitting one pad on each side, said he couidnt wind the pistons in enough didnt want to damage them, atleast he was honest aspose,

so hes on a last strike thing now, any more Bodge jobs and he get his p45

ive Done agood 500miles on these pads so far allswell,

Noticed the Jurid pads dont throw out loads of Brake dust onto the Alloys,
iwill be using this Brand from now on ..seems to be less mess with them
