i have a 2002 110hdi,have recently changed discs and pads front and back,also taken out slide pins,cleaned up and regreased,so after all that it still feels like i have a warped disc.was wondering if theres anythingelse that could be wrong that would give the same feeling.has anybody ever bourght a new disc that was warped ??????? dont think mine r warped,but feels like it under breaking,any advice i would be greatfull for,thanks.

@puggy,its sometimes loud noise like straining also when i break slowly u can feel the shudder only slight and its like the feeling when u have a warped disc,u know when u trickle forward under slight breaking and every rotation it seems to catch,hard to put in words,its got my head done in.

I'd check your reluctor rings, if one of those was slightly busted it could cause similiar symptoms to what you're describing. But no vibration through the steering wheel though, mainly through the brake pedal. Should feel like a 'clunk clunk clunk ' feedback from the wheels.

it is a clunk when breaking hard,as u say not through steering just pedal,what r reluctor rings m8 ????????

Has this happened since you changed the CV joint?

The relucter ring is fitted to the CV joint it's a ring of "teeth" that pass over the ABS sensor as the wheel turns which detects the speed of the wheels/driveshafts to help the ABS system to work, did your new CV joint have this?

problem was there before i changed cv joint,and yes cv joint did have the teeth on,that is the side where the problem lies,do u think it could be the sensor then,theres no warnings ever come up.

The relucter/ABS ring is on the drive shaft just behind the disc , it is a ring
that has 48 teeth on it that activates the ABS sensor . They are prone to rusting
then splitting sending false readings to the ABS .

Did you clean up the surface of the hubs so that the new discs fitted correctly to the hubs?

If there is left over dirt/rust the disc may not have seated properly and may be running out of true.

Personally if I were you I would ask your local mot garage to do a front and rear brake test, paying attention to warped discs, shouldn't cost much and will save you a lot of time and hassle.

But you have three other reluctor rings. Any one of these could be the culprit. Sometimes when they split the damage can be hard to spot as the crack is only as wide as a gee hair. Other times it can be something as simple as a missing tooth or even lodged dirt.

putting it in for mot next week,so i need to check the other 3 rings for any defaults then ???????? i will also check the sensors r clean and check pads r seated properly,thanks guys

Yes unfortunately. A time consuming job but worth it if it turns out that it is the root of the problem as reluctor rings are cheap (I think) and sensors are only 20 quid on amazon

dose anybody know if u can change rings on rears or r they part of the hub ????????,i know the fronts r part of the cv joint,well looked that way when i changed it.pissing down today,so wont be doing today.
