gearbox oil

can anyone tell me where to fill gearbox oil on my 2002 110hdi please, i changed the pass cv joint today and lost most of the gearbox oil,if any pics i would be greatful.

You didn't drain it then?

Drain off the rest and fill it through the breather hole on top of the gearbox after you remove the plastic screw/bolt, or through the reverse light switch hole after you remove it.

You will need 2 litres of 75w80 gearbox oil.

thanks jasper,wwhere is drain plug located m8,also dose it mater what make i use ???

There is a drain plug at the very bottom of the gearbox, looks like brass or shiny metal, it has an 8mm square fitting or an 8mm allen key hole.

75w90 is a bit thicker, but if you don't get notchy gearchanges afterwards it will be fine.

You might need to remove the air fiter box to see the reverse light switch or the plastic breather fitting.

u are ment to fill it at the end of the gearbox u need to take the passenger wheel off and a bit of the inner arch plastic and u will see a plate at the end of the gearbox with bolts holding it 1 of them is different to the rest undo it and fill it untill it cums out then u no its full

If you fill them from the side of the box,
and you take the wrong bolt out, you can end up having to take gearbox out,

ithink thats why jasper5 guided him on filling it the other way mate,

thankyou all for the guidence,i will go get oil tomoz and if weather good i will investigate and see whats best for me,again thankyou all.i will update once i have compleated job.

hav replaced the gearbox oil was easy realy,spilt a little coz of air locks but done now,could only get 75w90 oil,euro parts said thats now the standard oil for the pugs now ??????,again thanks for all advice :D

Peugeot 406hdi 2003 110bhp rapier

I can't find it.............. :( :(

can anyone help me please. Have just changed driveshaft and lost a bit of gear oil. Have purchased replacement oil but cannot find the gearbox filler/level plug. Even Peugeot parts department cannot advise. At the end of my tether. Any pictures, photographs or videos would be helpful. :?
