Rear brakes!!
Hi to you all - My 2003 2.0 hdi 90, which for the 11 months I have owned it has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. HOWEVER - it failed MOT yesterday on "rear brake application uneven." Has anyone come accross this failure before and if so, does anyone know how to sort it. I'm not scared of getting on the tools and having a go myself! Also, if I change the rear pads, will I need to remove the calipers or do the pads pull out when I've removed the retaining pins? Cheers all.

They are not to bad to sort out once you've done them a few times. I usually give the calipers a service every year before the mot.....

Many thanks Marco and Grasmere. I have got the pads out, given the whole area a good clean with WD40, gave the guide pins a good rub down, made sure the sliders are sliding in and out easily and replaces with new pads. Brakes definatley working better so hopefully this has sorted it. Again, thanks to you both.
