I just put my Pug through the MOT (or local equivalent  ), my back wasn't up to the job so I had the mechanic waive his hands at the handbrake. Normally I have the disks off and scuff the insides up with a bit of course emery paper but, after adjusting them, he reckoned they were good enough. They were but I wouldn't like to park it on a hill. Talking to the mechanic he said he had a similar problem on one of the ambulances, what he did in the end was have the shoes relined with a different compound, so I was thinking of having this done to mine. It'll have to wait until my wallet recovers from the revolting rav of course... :frown:

All you need to do is make sure the expander mechanism is free moving and well lubricated, and then the shoes are adjusted accordingly
