Replace handbrake assembley

Handbrake rachet has snapped having to replace the whole thing can someone tell me if the handbrake off a peugeot 406 2.0 hdi automatic on a 02 plate will fit

it looks like there are 2 different handbrake levers 470174 and 470179 for the same model. The difference is the way the cable attaches to the lever

its easy to check as one can be ajusted at the lever with a 10 mil nut the other cant,but if they are diffrent maybe you can swop the lever assembly.

Btw if you're still not sure have the front handbrake cable 'cos that's different too.

thanks for the responses this will b interesting trying to get the correct one from a "scrappies" so will take out the original one tomorrow and see which one is in and take it from there

I had to replace the one on my 2002 Rapier and as omega says it's easy to tell the difference as the later one has the adjuster in the car and the earlier has it underneath,i'm sure you cannot interchange parts between the two as the assembly is riveted together.
