I've bought a lovely Peugeot 406 1.8 16V (EW7 J4; 116 HP ) rapier. Unfortunatelly it has a strange noise from PAS pump, even noisyer than the engine itself
( oh yeah the engine has very smooth sound-love it ) It has oil little oil leaks there. My question is : is it possible that the PAS pump's life is over? Is it repairable? I mean it has a sound like the bushing /bearing has problem. Or I should replace it. If I should replace an another petrol engine would fit? e.g.: 1.8 (110HP) would be good?Cause on the ebay I can't find for 2002 year , but there's a lot PAS pump for the older 1.8. Maybe the PAS pump are the same.
