they shouldnt should they? only had them on a month or 2 and when i washed the car the other day theyve gone all orange now

Theyl clean them selves off mate,
water on brake discs while cars been standing makes them go orange its about normal,

if you run the car straight away whilst theyve been wet drys the water off,

dont worry about it tho

They all suffer from surface rust on the discs, it's harmless if unsightly!

but shouldnt the hubs stay nice and silver and shiney as they are new discs all round? what if i had a nice car with alloys, would look nasty with rusty discs/hubs

The problem is that the discs are made of mild steel which will rust. I have heard of people carefully painting the non friction area visible parts with some sort of heat resisting paint. Make sure you get the right sort of paint that will not blister with the heat.
Personally though, i'd leave them alone.

maybe if id have used pagid discs theyd be coated/treated? i used the eicher ones (cheapest on eurocarparts)

I just done my discs ( non friction parts ) with Smoothrite
Was told unless left to dry for 2 or 3 days, the centrifugal force would fling the paint back off

As I was changing the calipers and pads, I painted a new set of discs, and left 3 days before fitting to the car
