2.0 SRi-T PAS Pump

Post by davidmartin »

Hi guys,

I think the bearings in my PAS pump are on their way out.

I have been looking on the usual well known auction website but cannot find one specifically for the Turbo.

Is there another one that will fit? I can see that the Diesel one is completely different.

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure it's the PAS pump bearings? Hook the aux belt off and spin each component in the aux drive train, either that or use an extension bar as a sounding rod.
It can be caused by the alternator (happened on mine, same engine) or the tensioner; if you've already made your diagnosis forget everything I've said! :cheesy:

Thanks for your help.

Had a bit more of a poke about, and there is a bit of noise coming from the PAS pump but also noise coming from cambelt tensioner so it looks like I need a new cambelt as well, oh joy!

Thanks again

Cambelt tensioner or aux belt tensioner? If it's the visible belt, then it'll be the aux belt.
