Yes, 35mm seems a normal reduction for the 406, Apex are well liked and about £130 for a set.
Some have lowered their cars by over 60mm with Challengers with no issues, but this is too low for my liking.....

In my opinion the 406 sits to high at the front.
Wietec do some springs that are 40mm rear & 60mm front in reality it drops 50mm at the front & 30mm at the rear.

I just lowered my 406 2.0 HDi Break with 35mm. springs from H&R. Very satisfied with the result. The car looks so much better and drives better too.

This is with 18" Peugeot 308 wheels with 20mm. spacers and 225/40-18" tires on them making the car higher off the ground than on stock wheeels, but the wheel gap is spot on.

notrix,
Your car looks great with those wheels but the tyres are too pricey for me

I like so much these 308 alloys in 18". Your car is really fantastic, I would like to lower 3 cm but with Eibach springs.

The kit I got was HR29788-1

I had no issues fitting it as far as I remember. Which part of the shock tower are you struggling with?

Good stuff 8)

Sadly both my 406's suffered from old age and rust and are now long gone..

Sticking to French cars I moved on to 508's and currently have two pearl white 508SW HDi's

Would love to see a picture of your car when you're all done :)
