206 Steering wheel on a 406?

Hi Guys n Girls

I am going to ask a stupid question i just have that feeling this will turn out to be my nemesis !!

Will A Puegeot 406 Steering wheel or a 306 Steering wheel fit on a 406 steering column ? I NEED a smaller wheel to grip because of my size i cant get the Seat close enough to the pedals. There steering wheel is pressing into me. (yes i am LARGE )

Also while i am about to get ribbed over this can the seats be lowered down further by altering the under carriage?

Any help or advice will be met with open arms, you might not get to close lol

Hi Pete, welcome.

The steering wheel isn't something I have had to sort out, but as long as the steering wheel is from the same era ( i.e. post 2002 for both cars/steering wheels ) then the airbag should also be okay.

Older models had a single brown plug for the airbag, newer models have one blue and one green for the airbag - these are not interchangeable.

A 406 Coupe wheel is fractionally smaller, and I have seen a 407 steering wheel on a 406.

As for the seat, I can't help you there - sorry.

P.S. I have long skinny arms so getting close isn't a problem..
