My sister has just had a new radiator on her 206 hdi due to her neighbour attempting to top up the anti freeze by pulling the pipe off and snapping the plastics!
When it was fitted she asked the mechanic about a noise in the drivers side of the engine bay which he said was the PS pump.
Not had a look myself yet but other than whip the belt off and check the bearings for play is there any other things to look for?
If it does need changing do I just swap it over and top up the fluid or do I need to bleed the pump?
Is the pump common to other models if I go down the breaker route?
Cheers in advance
Gareth

Re: 206 PS Pump question
id look at tensioners etc before condemning the pwr steering pump.
as you've said whip the belt off,.
bleeding the pwr steering ? just raise front of car so wheels are just clearing ground start engine and turn steering wheel left to right lock a couple of times.
normaly sorts that,
