Front suspension

Post by Philinfrance »

Hi . I have just bought my second 406 this time an 2ltr hdi auto estate rather than the amazing twin cam 2ltr manual I had. I live a lot of the time in the country in France and the roads are rough. The old '98 406 would smooth out the worst surfaces but the new one seems to be quite poor in comparison and with only 77k I am surprised. i am thinking of replacing front springs and struts and the choice is KYB, larsfoge, or Monroe, does anyone have any idea which would be the best?

has the new car got the same size tyre as your old one ?
im thinking it could be a lower profile tyre thats making it rough.
i dont think changing the springs will change anything really.

Thanks Gary. No it dosn't have low profiles, so it would probably be the shocks then.
