Legaly i don't have a problem. They are almost ready. There is a strutt brace from a 3.0 coupe coming my way right now. It will be modified a bit, sand blasted, powder coated red and i made a little OMP sticker for it although its not genuine OMP...

It'salmost time to start dealing with the egine bay. I'm thinking 3.0l (pre multiplex) ES9 J4 manual or a small turbo conversion on mine. Thougt about the old 2.0 8v turbo too. For starters i' am on a lookout for a GTI6 intake and exhaust manifolds and with a good port of the cylinder head things should be much prettier. A remap is an opton, here it goes for around 200-300 pounds for a quality service with dyno testing. K&N won't be fitted because dust isn't uncommon here in Bulgaria.

Looks better in person, the paint is ideal, so it does not need any sand blasting. I might settle for black too. Red will be too contrasting. Those white marks are from the postage tape. 8)

A couple of observations:

Did you have to bend the strut brace in order to get the bonnet to close?

How did you get on with the 407 style key?

I see the centre console is the same on LHD cars as it is on RHD. Do you bang your knuckles on the centre console when you go for the handbrake? (Grabbing it from the other side, I have been known to grope the passenger  )

What's the red one?

Bulgaria looks nice.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

Yes, i had to bend it a little it needed 5 mm for the bonnet to clese properly. The left and the right side curves were different. Only the left side needed some bending. The 407 key is working fine for months now. I''m using the alarm system to lock/unlock the car so i didn'thad to move the chip inside the original key since it's only for the central locking system and has no immobilizer functions.
As for the hand brake - i dont really use it. Here in Bulgaria we are instructed in the driving courses to leave the car in first gear rather than using the hand brake. In my experience hand brake cables and winter = frozen brakes and taxi to work

Looking good.. 8)

On an earlier picture, you had a tiny splitter on the front bumper - is that a standard thing?

How did you get on with the lowering springs?

The splitter is from a renault laguna 1. The lowering springs are painted red and waiting their turn. Actually i am looking for a set of steel 15" or 16"s for the winter because with the lowering i'll be fitting a set of 2.0 16v 283mm front brakes. I can't manage to get my hands on a cheap v6 brembo set.

I know what you mean. I was offered a V6 coupe complete with Brembos all round for £300 but it was too far away.... :(

Might be cheaper to buy a whole car, swap the brakes and pass it on, I think I might if I find one cheap enough.

Brembos need the bigger disc for the calipers, similar price to standard ones though.

16" steels are rare, 15's are common on most Pugs.

Today i washed, cleaned and painted the front calipers from HDI 110 that came earlier this week.

Also managed to install the 607 interior which was a pain in the a**. Took me a week to sort the fixing issues and the electronics and heating wiring. If someone had told me what i was in for... At the end it was worth it. Also found a speedo with oil level meter but transfering the rings took me a day to do. :cheesy:
