Don't really want to get rid of it, I do really like the car. It's my first car at the end of the day. I love the 'understated' look it gives me. Nobody expects a 17 year old to be driving a 406!
Lets hope the Focus will be much better :thumb:

Can't wait to get it to be honest. Made an order for about £130 on Eurocarparts to give it a bloody good service as soon as I get it. Then just a case of cleaning and tidying it up over the next year or so :) See if the local PDR guy (hes bloody good) can sort a few things out, other things will have to go to a bodyshop and some other things might be able to sort out with the machine and some touch up paints. Need a new rear and front bumper and a new rear n/s door at minimum. Also want to get a K&N Panel filter, custom exhaust and get a bluefined :)

Only thing I'd suggest if the car's going to be px'd anyway - see if you can sell the extra rear seats & take the buyers standard boot floor for Bernard. Judging by the amount of 5 seat "family" 406s I found on Autotrader when I was looking for one, the dealers won't miss them & at least you should pocket £100+ to go towards running the Focus.

Thought I'd go have a look at my sunroof. Really wish I didnt know. First thing that got alarm bells ringing was wahen I pulled away the pillar cover and found this...

So I pulled the headlining down and found this...

Then went to pull it down some more so took the screen visor off and found this...

Had a good look round and the base of the sunroof has cracked letting water in. The 'shell' of the roof lining is rusted to hell and back :( Kinda glad I'm getting rid now!

Tidied it up and put everything back...

And then something else broke...

Argghhhhh, can anyone see what I mean now?

Oh dear - sounds like a real lemon :?

To be honest, if I was in your position, I'd probably get rid of the car as well. Maybe it has been abused at some point in previous life.

On a side note, while driving from London to Somerset yesterday, I saw a broken down Focus on A303 holding up traffic for about 10 miles  resulting in a 4.5 hour drive (normally takes just over 3). My 406 didn't skip a beat though :D
