I booked the car in with AP tuning who are local to me and they came out today to remap - but unfortunately they can't as I have a Siemens ECU, I now only have two options

1. Send the ECU away to be mapped - car is a daily driver so its a no go

2. Go for one of these http://www.viezu.com/index.php?option=c ... ucts_id=36

So Darren @ AP Tuning has ordered one for me and it should be here by the middle of next week.

Please keep us posted on how it goes. Be really good to have some 'before & after' performance figures - you could measure say 50 - 70 in 4th / 5th or 30 - 50 in 3rd without unduly thrashing it. Good to know how the consumption is affected.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Apparently the box has adjustments on it so you can set it up for economy/ performance or a mixture of both so will have to have a bit of a play with it

Also adjusted the Throttle cable this morning and it is now a lot quicker (surprisingly :cheesy: ) I took about 1/4 inch of slack out of the cable

Bugger it

The box arrived but after fitting the engine management light comes on and the car will only rev to just under 3000 rpm, no matter what adjustment we make it seems to make no difference. Unplug the box and everything goes back to normal, so Darren at AP tuning is going to have a word with the manufacturer as something is obviously wrong somewhere

Re-visited Darren at AP tuning today who has now managed to get hold of the correct leads and it all works fine.

First impressions are that the car is a lot smoother in acceleration especially in 3rd and 4th and there is definitely a noticable difference in 5th on a motorway where before youd plant the pedal and it would gradually pick up speed you can now feel it picking up - you dont get pushed back in the seat or all the lights going whizzing past fast and furious stylee but its definitely better.

Will report back on economy when I can stop flooring it everywhere :cheesy:

Well, that car is lovely and that colour is just plain beautiful. I was thinking of getting mine done some custom colour, to make it unique in the 406 fleet, but that blue has me tempted. Anyone know the shade and/or code please? And can lend me the money to get it sprayed? Kthxbye...

You know it's not a proper 406 unless it has a peeling passenger side air bag :p
