My 406 replacement

Post by TooT »

I finally had a bit of spare time on me hands to give it a quick wash and take some pics, so here she is :cheesy:
I dont expect many of you to like it, it is a bit weird looking, but i like it.
Shes got a great spec - full leather, dash mounted 6 disc changer plus single shot cd player, air con and leccy sunroof, auto wipers, auto lights, 6 speed box, keyless entry, push button start and panoramic roof.
I loved the spec of my 406 thats why its replacement had to have loads of kit. I looked at the Focus, Golf, Civic, Mazda 3, A3 and BMW compact but none even came close to this 03 Megane Dynamique dCi.
Couple of things that helped me sway my decision to this Meg is that the previous owner is my local Renault dealers head mechanic and its only done 26k 8)

Here she is

Hmmm, I.... just..... dunno! :?

Stopped the wife from having a megane, mostly because there aren't any local dealers. I like the leather, I like the outward styling, not keen on the dash though.

I like the Megane - the dash there in the light grey looks a little basic and perhaps a bit reflective in the sun? but I only like black dashes with a soft-feel.

Can't fault you though for buying a nice clean low miler 8)

Has it broken down yet? You'll have some nice fun weekends with the legendary Renault build quality (or lack of...)

A Renault, have you gone insane? They are the worst heaps of shite for reliability ever. Even the old Lada's and Skoda's are better.

It looks ok, but I hope you got a very good warranty with it.

Whereas us Peugeot owners never have any problems with our cars. :?

People in Glass houses lads.

Nice car TooT, never seen the inside of one before, maybe it's a grower. Good clean car though. Good spec too.

Cheers it is a grower. When they first came out i thought wtf are Renualt doing, but now i think it looks good and i like the way its different to the rounded blobs that cars seem to be nowadays.

It was advertised at £6100. I got it for £5700 (cash) with two new tyres and a oil and filter change thrown in :cheesy:

I've always liked the styling of this Magane. Its really cutting edge and make it different from the average eurobox on wheels.
I've never liked the dash though, looks like it belongs in a car in a lower class, like a Fiesta or Saxo.

Still, nice find Toot. Plenty of toys for your moolah there and a worthy 406 replacement . Not sure about it being a two door though. I see trouble ahead for the hinges. A car designed as a 4 door, with 2 doors usualy leads to problems as the 2 door has heavier doors on the same hinges as the 4 door.
