Gave the '6 a full detail!

I've been wanting to give the car a full detail for a fair while now, and thought I'd get it done on my week off work. Procedure was:

1] Mist the lower section of the car with VP citrus pre wash, and pressure rinse off
2] Wash the car using the 2 bucket method, with a microfibre madness incredimitt (awesome) and Dodo Juice BTBM shampoo
3] Dry with a large microfibre towel
4] Wash wheels (they didn't need anything more than shampoo to shift the brake dust as they have a ceramic coating applied which repels it)
5] Clay the car using a Farecla clay mitt
6] Polish the paint using GTechniq P1 on a green hexlogic pad on my DAS6 Pro
7] IPA the whole car to remove any polish residue/oils
8] Apply 2 coats of Farecla paste wax, which I rate very highly (better than AG HD, Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid and GTechniq C2v3)
9] Buff after 30 mins and add a coat of Chemical Guys speed wipe which adds an anti-static layer to the paint which prevents dust build up
10] Apply 2 coats of GTechniq T1 to the tyres
11] Clean the engine bay plastics using G101 and a ValetPRO brush
12] Coat the engine bay plastics with GTechniq T1

Et voila!

Clutch + DMF are next to be done, booked in for Monday so I can wave goodbye to £600! She deserves it though :cheesy:

Hope you like it,

What's holding your engine cover on?

If you look on eBay, there are replacement rubber studs that instead of having the usual clip method of attachment, have a thread, which also comes with 4 nuts and 4 washers. This allows you to lose the crappy clip design and have proper nuts holding them on.

I'm very impressed and also a teeny tiny bit jealous, but then I remember its a saloon.....

You have quite a repertoire of cleaning paraphernalia, it certainly tops my Poundland car shampoo and a sponge I found under the barbeque....

Top marks fella :cheesy:

Amazing! But can I ask...does this method get rid if superficial scratches and minor stone chips?

It will remove nearly all scratches, apart from really deep ones that catch the fingernail. However, if you do have these deep scratches, it will make them look far less obvious. :D With regards to the stone chips, it will improve them if they haven't broken through the paint.
