I can't say I've ever trimmed a spade connector down
I would assume it would effect the currect carrying capacity of the crimp. But you should be fine with the airbags because it's only every going to carry current for a very short amount of time anyway.

Cool........ It's the seat belt pre-tens :)
Just wouldn't fit neatly together and didn't want to leave metal exposed in the middle

Ohhhh I thought you meant they are too wide!
Spade connectors don't go together completley. I usually use a bit of headshrink over them.

If you didn't want to tape them up or head shrink them then you would probably be better off with bullet connectors!

I couldn't find any insulated bullet connectors
Yeah - they just wouldn't tuck into each other nicely.... As I put in the blog though I would of ideally liked to use heat shrink but the problem is, more set up costs of having a heat gun = I really can't afford that with the house move coming up within a month or so's time. :) Thanks for your advice. :)

I heard they are far too under powered.
Did consider the hair dryer option!

Your car has a cigarette lighter built in - no idea if it'd be any good for this, but I bet it gets pretty damned hot!
