With the turbo lag, it's a long shot i know but mine was a bit of a slouch but like a rocket as soon as the turbo kicked in, was really strange but just ended up being the throttle cable needed adjusting, now it's lethal :)
Interesting - I'll check the TPS values at the weekend. 8)
I might have a spare Parrot at home, need to check my spare room and see if i've still got it and it's complete

Parrots are great - fitted a CK3100 in mine - only issue was stuffing all the wires in.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

I didn't even suspect the throttle cable on mine till after i changed the injectors and i still had delay, my girlfriend wondered why I literally giggled driving down the road after adjusting it until i then let her drive :)

Rare here too, I'm sure there are some in the UK imported from EU. I found them on ebay some time ago, they went for 900€ complete with good winter tyres!

Doggy, I've seen several posts on the Coupe forums about the 'banging' Clarion. It's a very common issue and is an earthing problem, the solution is to connect some wire between the earth post on the back of the headunit and any screw on the side of the unit.

Almost certainly the issue :)

Thanks, Jon - I'll check it out. 8)

Thinking about it, I wonder if it might be as simple as a faulty aerial connection. (The dogmobile did this too when I first got it), but the problem disappeared after the phone install - hadn't linked those two events, until now.....

As said 90% it's the headunit body grounding, pretty easy to fix. I've never heard of a faulty 406 aerial causing this kind of problem. However, this being a 2003 (right?) car the problem should have been fixed by then... they had introduced a fix in 2002 aparently.

Mine bangs every so often,it won't do it for ages then just when your not expecting it off it goes and it makes you jump out of your skin,i too have got out the car on accasions looking for something that has hit the roof, also sometimes when you turn the ignition on when the radio is on there is a loud crackle.I'm glad i read this thread as i was wondering what the noise could be as it always seems from the roof area,i thought untill now it was something to do with the sunroof. :?

Update - TPS indicates 99% with pedal on the floor, so I guess adjusting the cable isn't going to help. :(

Could be the TPS itself.
The TPS on my HDi 90 would show 98% when foot was to the floor but the increase in throttle was not directly proportional to the amount of throttle applied.
For instance I could put 3/4 the throttle on yet it was still only reading 35% throttle. The last 60odd percent was in the last 1/4 of the throttle.

Hard to explain.
