I'm getting 62mpg on a 65mph cruise which is about 1700rpm and it will pull from 1400rpm all the way to 4500rpm.

I also went for the 1.8 for reliablility reasons. There seems to be very few issues with EGRs, DPFs, Turbos, DMFs when you compare them with the PSA engines.

Most of them on Autotrader and eBay seem to be the 1.8, must be the most popular, which is understandable from the numbers.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

I am totally smitten with this car.
It feels like allot more than a 'Ford Mondeo'. Feels posh, feels solid and feels very upmarket.

So this year, I'm already a grand up... That technically means the car cost me £1000 less

Now, that does seem wierd to me. You've gone from a HDI90 to a much quicker Mondeo, and it's a grand a year less to insure? The logic of this totaly escapes me!

Very nice, Sam. 8)

Now you've finally got something to polish & admire, rather than fret over.

Remember my first, 'decent' car - a mk1 Triumph 2000 - I was like a dog with two tails. Enjoy.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Last week I got just 38mpg out of it but I was still getting used to it and done a few short journeys.

Came back from Dai's yesterday, reset the computer and set cruise at 60mph down the A470 and down the M4.
Computer not says 61.4mpg 8)

I like 8)

Looks in very fine condition with 98K miles, even the steering wheel and pedals still look new :o

That seems a good buy that, especially with the insurance saving

You can't take away the feeling of owning and driving something you've worked hard for and you can't really put a price on it either. Well done Bailes :cheesy:
