Now my daily driver as of the 1st of Aug :cheesy:

Very smooth, very comfortable and very smokey :P

Not a riot to drive like my van but I prefer the relaxed style of driving and diesel fuel prices :D

So the 406 has replaced this:
Image

A few other bits I had to do...

Painted the sills
Image

Fitted front speakers
Image

A radio to match, from the van
Image

And some flat blade wipers
Image

Exhaust needs sorting, it fell apart twice this week

So as it stands:

Plenty to do still 8)

Must update a bit...

A lot can happen in a few weeks!

First, the exhaust blew up and fumed out the cabin
Image

New backbox time
Image

Modified to fit
Image

Back to that later...

Still trying to sort that stupid elec problem :(
Image

This didn't cure the problem
Image

Tore out almost everything in the fusebox area
Image

Cleaned every wire that looked like this
Image

Tested circuits
Image

Still broke! :(

In the process, found out the car had gone on fire before I bought it....
Image
Image
Image

Think I'll rewire the lot myself when I have the time...

Moving on, needed new springs badly.

So out with these lowering jobbies...
Image

New rear drop links
Image

Why I needed those new springs
Image

And the result was... Well...
Image
Image
Image

Got a full set of normal springs
Image

And wheels
Image

Looks much better :)
Image

As for the exhaust.... :cheesy:
Image

Currently in the process of losing the vinyl, fiddling with fuelling and just enjoying driving it :)

Brightish 501s
Image

Silvered up the morrors
Image
Image

New hubs with discs and calipers
Image

Ashwood ashtray
Image

Then... Oooopsie as I was reversing out of my yard!
Image
Image

Finally...

Image

Have spotted a transit pump to buy and mutilate into my own pump :cheesy:

I've had to make a decision on the car. After looking at a few floppy bits on it and weighing the costs, I can't justify the work or money needed to put it fully right. The fickle windows really left me scratching my head!

So, at the end of the month, my car will be stripped to a bare shell and scrapped.... Pity, it's a hoot of a car!

But what have I lined up as a direct replacement....?

Too many problems with it so he'll put the good parts from it on the purple one (you can do that when cars are cheap :( )

I'll be working my magic on that one too :)

No sunroof so I'm delighted! Only elec niggle is a flashing airbag light, I think a new module is in order :cheesy: but a very nice car for very little :D

As for why I'm stripping the other car, just too much wrong with it electrically, despite my efforts. This one really annoyed me and has left me scratching my head
