Yeah unfortunately I was busy this year, though hopefully next year I'll be coming.

I'm keeping an eye out for D9 leather door cards, looking forward to your pics etc once you've done them all. I don't have electric rear windows which might mean the D9 exec door card don't fit since they had electric windows. Need to investigate further...

Jon,
for the Rear cards if you dont have elec windows,
you just put a hole in the door card for the window winder,

and swap handle over, its easy to make them fit,

Had a quick look on eBay for "406 executive breaking" and found this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130705192295

It's an estate, but the door cards are the same on the saloon and estate models. The bloke wants to sell the whole car as a non-runner but says he's willing to break it for parts. Would be worth contacting him and seeing how much he wants for his door cards.

Thanks mig :)

It's been months and I've not found a scrapper in Regency Red (not a single one!), so I got an unpainted fuel flap, some primer, and a can of Regency Red. Currently waiting for primer to set.

If I've got some paint left over I'm planning to do the mirror backs :)

Will let you know how it goes.

Put the uprated 4050 HU in today (got it for a fiver!) to replace the 4030 whose bulbs had both in the screen and I couldn't see anything.

I'd already got the MFD in from the trip computer retrofit. Very happy :)

Decided to wire up the temperature sensor. What a total ***** of a job!

Pass side door card and mirror off to examine the loom, no sign of wires 721 and 722 which are the temp sensor wires leaving the trip computer bank. After removing a tonne of trim on the interior, I found the plug that is the connection between the door and the body. Wires 721 and 722 stop at this plug.

The hole is very well sealed (for waterproofing reasons I assume) so I tried to push wires through unused holes in the plug, but they have white bungs in them which took me a long time to work out, and even when these are removed, the hole remaining is tiny. So I used a Dremel to widen two holes to feed cables through. Access is really restricted in this bit!

Then fed the wires through the rubber concertina and into the door with a lot of difficulty, and then up to the mirror.

I've got a thermistor on order, so when that turns up all I have to do is remove the mirror and attach the sensor :)

This really wasn't an easy job, if you're thinking of attempting it, give yourself a whole afternoon and lots of tea!

Finished the filler flap today. Two coats of primer, two paint and two of lacquer, two weeks for the lacquer to harden and then a good polish with some T-cut.

Very pleased with the colour match, and I don't even need the "clothes peg spring" trick any more since the original spring is working again!

New one on the car:

218k miles, had a new Valeo clutch, bottom engine mount, driveshaft oil seals and input shaft seal done today, along with a short service.

It's made a huge difference, feels fantastic to drive.

Must say thanks to KrisB (http://krisb.co.uk) for his excellent work, would recommend him to anyone!
